Rosh Hashana greetings have been exchanged between Israel’s Sephardic Chief Rabbi Yitzhak Nissim and Chief Rabbi Yehuda Leib Levin of Moscow, it was reported today. Rabbi Levin sent a message expressing hope for the strengthening of Torah among Jews all over the world and for peace among nations. Rabbi Nissim wished the Jews of the Soviet Union a year free from repression, especially the ban on emigration to Israel.
