It is officially reported here that the Trans-Jordan government has taken under its wing 2,100 destitute men, women and children of the starving Beni Hassan tribe. They are provided with food, shelter and clothing.
The tribe has been in a state of desperate poverty for many months, and its sufferings has been intensified by the hard winter. Many children have died of exposure and undernourishment. Camels, sheep and other animals of the tribe long ago perished of starvation.
