The city of Pisa today formally dedicated a street in the name of Prof. Giuseppe Pardo Roques, member of a leading Italian Jewish family, who was assassinated there by German S.S. troops, with his entire family, 15 years ago, during the Nazi occupation. Prof. Pardo Roques, who was widely known as a humanitarian and philanthropist, had served as Deputy Mayor of Pisa for many years.
