The article, signed by the paper’s Moscow bureau chief, Giuseppe Boffa, said that Stalin was responsible for anti-Semitism in the Soviet Union.”Stalin, particularly in his last years, spread a certain nationalistic and therefore anti-Semitic spirit among the people, ” the article declared. This spirit was also extended to intellectuals, Government officials and even officials of the Communist Party, the article stressed.
