Dr. Enrico Anzillotto, new Italian Minister to Israel, yesterday presented his credentials to President Chaim Weizmann. He expressed the belief of his government that the Jewish state “can fulfill the primary task of intra-regional development in the Middle East.”
Common interests between Israel and Italy, he added, open possibilities for “broad and efficient cooperation between the two countries.” Dr. Weizmann lauded Italy as one of the first countries to support the establishment of a Jewish National Home after World War I and expressed the hope for a closer relationship between the two nations.
