Italian Parliament Gets Law to Restore Jobs to Teachers Dismissed on Racial Grounds

The Public Education Committee of the Italian Chamber of Deputies, the lower house of the Parliament, has proposed the adoption of legislation restoring to permanent positions teachers who were persecuted and dismissed from the school system during the Fascist regime for racial or political reasons. Meanwhile, such teachers have been reassigned to their positions on temporary assignment.

The Council of the Union of Jewish Communities in Italy this week decided to call a congress of Italian Jewish communities in Rome on March 25 and 26, 1951. The decision was adopted at a meeting of the Council held here.
