Foreign Minister Giuseppe Brusasca has announced that Italy will send a squad of 12 policemen to Jerusalem to guard the Italian Consulate there. He pointed out that the squad would also protect the consulate’s radio transmitter, its only link with the outside world if the city is cut off by Arab-Jewish fighting.
