The Italian Government may take action soon to halt anti-Semitic incitement in certain Fascist newspapers, foreign correspondents here have been given to understand in Italian diplomatic circles.

The Italian Ministry of Press and Propaganda has been spurred to consider action, it is understood, as a result of fears that attention on the anti-Jewish agitation outside of Italy may result in its being used as an issue against Premier Mussolini.

French newspapers have already focussed attention on Fascist denunciations of Jews, and Italian diplomats are said to fear that American and British newspapers may follow the example of the French press.

The Italian Embassy has given assurances to the Jewish Telegraphic Agency that the anti-Jewish tone taken by some Fascist newspapers does not represent the sentiment of the Italian Government.
