The Joint Distribution Committee and the American ORT Federation today announced the signing of an agreement under which the J.D.C. will renew its financial assistance to ORT programs in behalf of Jewish men and women in Europe and North Africa this year.
Under the terms of the agreement the J.D.C will make a grant of $l,500,000 to the ORT from the collection of the United Jewish Appeal. ORT will not conduct an independent fund-raising campaign in the United States this year. Spokesmen for the J.D.C. and the ORT noted the need for expanded vocational training programs in Eastern Europe and North Africa.
