The 43rd annual meeting of the Joint Distribution Committee will be held on Thursday, December12, at the Hotel Waldorf-Astoria, it was announced today by Edward M. M. Warburg, JDC chairman. Leaders of Jewish communities from coast to coast will attend the meeting to elect officers for the coming year and to adopt a budget for JDC activities during 1958.
A special report on the resumption of JDC aid in Poland will be made by Charles H. Jordan. JDC director general, who recently visited Poland to survey the needs of some 10,000 Jews repatriated from Russia. Mr. Jordan will also report to the delegates on the continuing needs of Jewish Hungarian and Egyptian refugees who left their countries a year ago and still have not found permanent homes.
