J.D.C. Director Finds Jewish Community Life in South America Viable

“The uneasiness which has been growing in South America and abroad because of developments, most of which are of a general character and some of which pertain to the position of Jews particularly, must be acknowledged but not exaggerated, ” Charles Jordan, overseas director of the Joint Distribution Committee, declared here today.

Mr. Jordan, who is currently visiting Brazil, told a meeting of top Latin American executives of the United Hias Service and the JDC that “as of this moment, South American Jewish community life continues normally and is viable, and economically Justifies continued and increasing participation of South American Jewries in the urgent financial needs in other parts of the world, especially in Israel and France.”
