The Joint Distribution Committee has distributed sixty Ethrogim and Lulavim from Israel to Jewish religious congregations in Poland for use during the forthcoming Succoth holidays, it was reported here today. However, in view of the large number of synagogues it is expected that the allocation will be insufficient.
The Joint Distribution Committee has brought into Poland more than 10,000 Hebrew and Yiddish textbooks for distribution among Zionist organizations in Poland and schools operated by the Central Committee of Polish Jews. The shortage of textbooks–particularly Hebrew language instruction books–has resulted in difficulties for Zionist groups conducting various Hebrew courses which have recently become very popular.
