An emergency cash relief program to aid Jews living in East Berlin was inaugurated in West Berlin today by the Joint Distribution Committee which distributed cash grants to 200 Jewish men and women living in the Russian-occupied sector of the city. JDC headquarters here announced. The grants were given out through the West Berlin Jewish community building.
Enough funds have been made available to provide cash relief to all needy Jews in Eastern Germany and East Berlin, the JDC’s office announced, and it is expected to around 500.
