Part of the Joint Distribution Committee shipment of relief supplies which arrived at the port of Constanza this week on the liberty ship American Victory has been shipped here for distribution to institutions and individuals.

A large share of the supplies are destined for Moldavia where crop failure has caused widespread hunger. As a result of recent thefts of J.D.C. supplies from Rumanian Government freignt cars, sometimes amounting to 80 percent of a transport, the organization has decided to organize and guard its own transports of relief to areas in the interior.

A home for Jewish apprentices was re-opened this week in Cluj. The reconstruction costs and maintenance of the institution have been undertaken by the Jiont Distribution Committee. Of the 75 pre-war inhabitants of the home, only two have returned from deportation.
