The Joint Distribution Committee will finance 1948 expanded vocational training program of the ORT in Europe to the extent of 4OO,0OO, under an agreement reached between the two organizations, it was regaled here today by George Backer, president of the World ORT Union.
Mr. Backer announced that Aaron B. Tart, executive vice-president of the American ORT Federation, left for Europe to confer with leaders of the ORT and J.D.C. various countries on the implementation of a joint program of vocational training the two organizations. He expressed the conviction that “the cooperation between J.D.C. and the ORT will result in the most successful accomplishments of the ORT its 68-year-old history.”
