J. David Stern, of Camden, New Jersey, is the new publisher of The New York Evening Post following his purchase of the property from the Curtis-Martin Newspapers, Inc.
Born in Philadelphia, Mr. Stern studied at the University of Pennsylvania College and Law School and later started his journalistic career as reporter on the staff of The Philadelphia Ledger He became manager of the Providence News and publisher sucessively of the New Brunswick Times, the Springfield News and the Springfield Record In 1919 he purchased the Camden Courier and in 1926 the Camden Post. Since 1928 he has been publisher of the Philadelphia Record. He is prominent in Jewish activities, particularly in the American League for the Defense of Jewish Rights.
He lives with his family in Haddonfield, N. J. He has three children.
