David S. Tschertok, Overseas Director of the Jewish National Fund in Jerusalem, arrived in New York for a lengthy visit in the United States. He will visit many communities throughout the United States bringing them a first-hand report on the work on the most recent projects of the J.N.F. in Israel.

“The influence of the Jewish National Fund on the economy of the State of Israel is constantly growing,” Mr. Tschertok said. He cited as an example the ownership by the J.N.F. of the three million dunams of land which is having an effect on colonization in Israel, as well as on housing through the prevention of speculation in land. “The reclamation work now carried on by the Jewish National Fund in the swamp area of Huleh on the border of Syria is proceeding apace despite military and financial difficulties,” Mr. Tschertok declared.
