A sum of approximately $40,000 was raised for the Jewish National Fund in this country as a result of the seventeenth annual Flower Day held on June 7th, and in some communities also on June 14th, in nearly 300 Jewish communities of the United States, according to a statement issued by Harry J. Kahn, acting president of the Jewish National Fund of America. In New York City alone, Flower Day brought in approximately $15,000. Hundreds of volunteers, recruited from among all groups and factions of the Zionist movement, cooperated and assisted in the collections.
