The Jewish National Fund of Chicago has purchased land in Israel and will plant a forest on it in honor of Chicago Mayor Richard J. Daley, it was announced at a JNF dinner here.
Not to be outdone, former Dublin Mayor Robert Briscoe, a speaker at the dinner, announced he would purchase an acre of land in County Limerack, Eire, where Mayor Daley’s ancestors lived, and would plant a Daley Forest there.
