A review of Jewish Restitution Successor Organization operations at the ninth annual meeting of its board of directors held last night highlighted the successful conclusion of bulk settlement agreements with the German Federal Government and the City of West Berlin of claims for heirless Jewish assets.
The meeting under the chairmanship of Monroe Goldwater honored Benjamin B. Ferencz upon the completion of his services as director general of the Jewish Restitution Successor Organization in Germany. Dr. Israel Goldstein, who was elected president of the JRSO for 1956-57, praised Mr. Ferencz for his imaginative direction of the affairs of the JRSO, which provided millions of dollars for programs to assist Jewish victims of Nazi persecution.
Other officers elected include: Mr. Goldwater, chairman of the executive committee; Jacob Blaustein, Dr. Nahum Goldmann, Dr. Nehemiah Robinson; Hermann Simon and Edward M.M. Warburg, vice-presidents; Dr. Herman Gray and Shad Polier, co-treasurers; Saul Kagan, secretary.
