Direct transmission facilities from the New York headquarters of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency to the New York Post were opened today. The new facilities will make the worldwide news service of JTA immediately available to the New York afternoon newspaper, including the JTA coverage of Israeli news developments.
The new circuit utilizes the facsimile method of transmission which JTA first among American news agencies, used on a regular basis for the delivery of news to newspapers. JTA uses the facsimile system on another circuit for delivery of its Yiddish service to the New York Yiddish dailies and high-speed teleprinter for service to leading English-Jewish publications throughout the country. Its news broadcasts to Israel, Europe and South Africa are by radio printer and, to Argentina, Brazil and Peru, in Morse code.
