John W. David has sent greetings to the Jews on the occasion of the Jewish New Year, (Rosh Hashenah) through Isaac Rosengarten, Editor of the Jewish Forum. The letter says:

“I am glad to extend to the Jewish people on Rosh Hashanah my greetings”, Mr. Davis wrote. “Washington in 1790 expressed a hope that the sons of Abraham might find in America aland in which they would find no man to molest them and make them afraid. And from that date to this, there is no office, however, lofty, to which a Jew may not aspire; no public duty, however humble, which the Jews of America are not willing to perform. America holds out to you the hand of fellowship, side by side with all our countrymen, animated by firm convictions and ideals of the future.
