The resignation of James Waterman Wise as editor of the monthly magazine Opinion was announced yesterday by Earle D. Marks, publisher. After his resignation, which will take effect March 1, Mr. Wise, who has edited Opinion since its inception, will engage in other Jewish and public activities.
The future direction of Opinion will be in the hands of the editorial board, which includes Irwin Ed-man, John Haynes Holmes, Mordecai M. Kaplan, Mrs. Rebekah Kohut, Ludwig Lewisohn, Maurice Samuel, and Stephen S. Wise. The magazine was founded in 1931 as a national Jewish publication.
