Jacob Bctoshansky, editor of “Di Presse,” a daily Yiddish newspaper appearing in Buenos Aires, died in a Johannesburg hospital last night, following a sudden illness Sunday night during a lecture tour of South Africa. He was 72.

Born in Bessarabia, he studied in a Kishinev yeshiva and later in Odessa. At the outbreak of World War I, he fled to Rumania where he started his journalistic career. He came to Argentina in 1923, and began writing in Di Presse, later becoming editor. He was also the author of a number of books, including three plays.
