Samuel L. Haber, executive vice chairman of the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee, said yesterday that the JDC had distributed 4 million pounds of Food for Peace supplies in the first half of this year. Some 2.6 million pounds went to supplement diets in Israeli hospitals, child-care homes and other institutions. The remainder went to Iran, Morocco and Tunisia. Mr. Haber said 38,000 needy persons a month–21,500 of them in Israel–benefited. The supplies, paid for by funds from the United Jewish Appeal, were valued at $262,000, he said.
