Harry Viteles, representative of the Joint Distribution Committee in the Middle East, has left for Aden to study the position of 2,000 Yemenite Jewish refugees who are being supported by JDC funds, it was announced here today.
Approximately, 2,500 Yemenite Jews have reached Palestine since February of this year, in addition to a group of 804 Jews who are now an route from Yemen to Palestine and are expected to arrive here this week. They are all to enter the country under the existing immigration quota. A contingent of Polish Jews is also expected to reach Palestine this week from Teheran.
Soviet ambassadors in Cairo, Ankara and Teheran have been invited officially by the Palestine Victory League to come to Palestine to attend the opening of a “Russian Exhibition” which the League is now arranging. The exhibition will open on January 9th in Jerusalem with representatives of the Palestine Government in attendance.
