The Governor of Kowno and surrounding districts, a well-known anti-Semite, has brought proceedings against the “Joint”, because its letter-headings are printed only in English and not in Lithuanian.
The Secretary of the Joint, M. Marcus, called upon the Minister of Interior, and explained to him that the JDC is an international relief organization and is active in many countries, but nowhere has any complaint been made that its stationery was not being printed in the language of the country. The Minister promised to look into the matter.
