A vituperative attack on “certain rabbis who go around making noise” in connection with the activities here of the American Civil Liberties Union features the current issue of the Jersey City Jewish War Veterans, official organ of the local post of the Jewish War Veterans of the United States.
The publication describes the Union as a “scourge” deluding the city. It charges that organization “acts in the guise of helping a so-called unemployment organization, who are doing nothing more or less than to preach Communism and incite people to riot.” In this connection the editorial assails members of the clergy—including certain rabbis who “should be preaching religion and not Communism, but have been involved with the Union.”
