The Jerusalem Municipal Council today approved a 20,000,000 pound ($11,000,000) slum clearance program providing for the construction of 2,100 housing units for families now living in substandard homes.
The plan calls for the initial construction of 500 family units costing $4,500 each. The Municipality and the Ministry of Labor will grant each family a $3,600 mortgage in Israel currency.
