The center of the city was put under curfew today following the critical wounding of a British tourist by rifle bullets. A cordon of troops was thrown around the entire district. Four Arab rebels and a shepherd were killed and three British privates were wounded in other disorders within the last 24 hours. A Royal Air Force pilot was also killed in a plane crash near Jerusalem yesterday, it was announced.
