Adolf Hamburger a local Jewish merchant has been awarded the West German Federal Cross of Merit in recognition of his work in rebuilding the Frankfurt Jewish community after the end of the Hitler regime The community which Mr. Hamburger heads. numbers 175 persons including less than ten children and adults up to the age of 30 Twenty-five years ago the community was 7,500 strong.
