Walter Gradner, a member of the City Council here, and a Jew, was elected Mayor today. Mr. Gradner is active in Jewish affairs, and is president of the Cape Town Hebrew Congregation. His late father, Louis Gradner, was also Mayor of Cape Town some 30 years ago.
