I. J. Scharff, of this city, has been elected Grand High Priest of the Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons of the State of Mississippi, at the recent convocation of the Grand Chapter, which was held at Clarksdale recently.
Mr. Scharff has served on the finance committee of the Grand Council for several terms and is also Grand Master of Ceremonies of the Grand Convention of the Order of High Priesthood of the State of Mississippi.
He has also been very active in the Scottish Rite branch of Free Masonary and in 1927 received the highest honor by the Supreme Council at Washington by being crowned a 33rd degree Mason. Mr. Scharff was one of the organizers and the first secretary of the Corinth Lodge of Perfection and was Venerable Master in 1925.
