Col. Isaac Nahon, a Jew and a member of the Sephardic community here, was elevated to the rank of general, and placed in command of a division of the Brazilian army. He is 50 years old. The elevation of Col. Nahon to a generalship is the third such promotion for a Jew in the Brazilian army in the last four months.
