Dr. Edward Singer, a noted authority on medicine, was today appointed professor of medicine in the Royal Hungarian University of Sciences at Budapest. Dr. Singer, the son of a Jewish railway official, was compelled to study in Berlin because of the numerus clausus in Hungary which prevented him from obtaining his education at home. While abroad he received a subvention from the Jewish community of Budapest.
