A Jew, Nissim Duranye, 24, died early today of wounds suffered during an Arab attack on a truck near Givat Shaul yesterday.
A fifty-year-old shoemaker, Mordechai Ouchanna, sole Jewish resident in the Arab town of Ramallah, was shot at and slightly wounded last night while on his way to Jerusalem to visit his family, which has lived there since the disturbances started. His assailant was arrested.
Explosions and shots were heard this morning in the Nashashibi quarter of Jerusalem. Police searched the section for hours without result. Reports were current that an attempt had been made to bomb the home of former Jerusalem mayor Ragheb bey Nashashibi. The reports were officially denied, but Arab circles saw in the explosion a warning to Nashashibi against participating in the forthcoming deliberations of the Palestine technical commission. A bomb exploded harmlessly near the central police station at Jaffa.
