With special exercises in the afternoon and evening attended by 500 people, the Daughters of Israel Home for the Aged yesterday marked the first anniversary of the dedication of its new four-story structure at High and Kinney streets.
Among gifts reported at the occasion were $1,000 from the estate of the late Morris Rachlin and $500 from Mrs. Ida Kolodin.
A feature of the event was the dedication of a ward in the name of Mrs. Rachel E. Parsonnet, who has voluntarily served the home as recording secretary for nearly three decades. She was feted at a dinner in the evening. The Home now cares for 150 aged men and women. Mrs. Henry Tepper is president.
