In the event of co-operation, faced by far less serious obstacles, it would be considered highly desirable by both sides that in view of the present political situation, the Agudath Israel should not undertaken independent political outside activities in regard to Palestine without an attempt being first made to unite the Jewish Agency and the Agudath Israel along a common political line, says the official text of the communique issued concerning the negotiations held here between representatives of the Jewish Agency and the Agudath Israel (reported in the J.T.A. Bulletin of January 29th.). The Jewish Agency will facilitate this, the statement proceeds, by keeping the Agudath Israel informed with regard to political events, insofar as discretion permits. If this co-operation is approved, the statement concludes, collaboration in the economic field should not be a difficult matter. Questions of detail arising out of this will be considered at the next meeting to be held in the course of a few weeks.
