The Jewish Agency gave final approval today to plans for construction of an agricultural village for Western immigrants in the Gedera area, south of Rehovot. Forty housing units and auxiliary farm buildings will be built in the village of Basheet by the Rassco construction firm.
The farm units will be made available for immigrants from Western countries who are able to invest $5, 000. The area was designated several years ago as a center for middle-class immigrants from English-speaking countries.
