Berl Locker, chairman of the Jewish Agency in Jerusalem, today told a press conference here that the World Zionist Congress will take place in Jerusalem at the end of this year as originally scheduled. He specifically denied rumors circulating here that the Congress would be postponed.
Speaking of the Iraq Government’s decision to permit its Jewish citizens to leave the country, Mr. Locker appealed to Jews in countries outside of Israel to assume new burdens to help bring the Iraq Jews to Israel. He pointed out that the camps of Israel are already overcrowded and that there is no available housing.
