Measures for the protection of the 100,000 Jews living in Tunisia received urgent consideration from the Jewish Agency executive here today following receipt of alarming reports on the situation of the Jews as Tunisian nationalists continued rioting against the French authorities. The executive is expected to take final decisions on a line of action tomorrow.

In view of the deteriorating situation in Tunisia, the Jewish Agency is considering increasing immigration from that country to Israel and will start the transfer of Jews from Tunis immediately.

(According to information received in Paris by central Jewish agencies today, attacks on Jews and Jewish premises in Tunisia do not appear to be anti-Jewish excesses but developments incidental to the nationalist inspired riots.)
