Programs for special aid to Algerian Jewish refugees in France were discussed here today at a meeting of the Jewish Agency executive, with reports on those steps made by Eliyahu Dobkin, chairman of the Youth-Halutz department and Moshe Kol, head of youth immigration. Both departmental heads announced plans for stepping up Agency participation in programs developed for aid to the Algerian Jews who have flocked en masse to France in recent months.
Mr. Dobkin announced that special emissaries have been sent to France to aid the enrollment of Jewish refugees in the work of PATWA — the Professional and Technical Workers Aliyah. Mr. Kol announced that institutions under the jurisdiction of his department have decided to absorb “without limit” all young refugees among the newcomers in France. The French Zionist Organization, he reported, has formed a coordinating committee to help integrate the welfare work on behalf of the Algerian Jewish refugees undertaken by a number of Jewish organizations in France.
