A new economic information and guidance service for American Jews desiring to settle in Israel was established by the Jewish Agency here, it was announced today. Directing this service is Isaac Kurland, director general of the Agency’s economic department in Tel Aviv, who is currently in the United States as economic advisor to the Jewish Agency’s emigration department.
The new service will concentrate on problems of middle class immigrants. It will offer up-to-date information and individual guidance on all matters concerning transfer of capital, housing, investment and employment opportunities in Israel as well as on the establishment of any kind of enterprise in the field of manufacturing or trade.
Mr. Kurland, who has lived in Israel since 1924, was connected for many years with the Anglo-Palestine Bank and has been on the board of a number of leading Israel concerns. He joined the staff of the Jewish Agency’s economic department in 1949.
