For immigration activities, including initial care of newcomers, the Jewish Agency for Palestine and the Palestine Foundation Fund spent $1,987,000 during the month of February, according to a report from Eliezer Kaplan, Jewish Agency treasurer, received today by Dr. Israel Goldstein, national chairman of the United Palestine Appeal which provides the American financial support for the upbuilding work of these agencies in Palestine.
“Jewish Agency overall expenditures in February,” Dr. Goldstein declared, citing the report, “come to $3,388,000 and included such activities as aid to the establishment of new settlements, furtherance of industrial development particularly geared toward providing jobs for new immigrants, allocations to education of refugee children, and related endeavors.”
