The Jewish Agency spent more than 44,350,000 pounds in the first six months of the current fiscal year, Dr. Giora Josephthal, Agency treasurer, reported today to a meeting of the Zionist Actions Committee’s permanent subcommittee.
Dr. Josephthal said that the greater part of the money was spent in the following categories: agriculture, 26,000,000 pounds; immigration, 1,000,000; absorption activities, 3,000,000; Youth Aliyah, 3, 800,000; repayment of debts, 5,500,000. Dr. Josephthal said the Agency expects to spend another 22,000,000 pounds in agriculture during the current fiscal year.
