The Jewish Agency expect to import this year commodities from the United States to the value of $10,000,000, it was revealed here today at a press conference.
Addressing the conference, representatives of the Jewish Agency stated that the Palestine Government agreed that part of the funds collected in America by Jewish groups for Palestine should be spent in purchasing American goods for transportation to Palestine. However, the government stipulated that purchases can be made only of such articles which cannot be bought in the United Kingdom.
The first permit granted by the Palestine Government provides for the importation of pipes and machinery from the United States, the Jewish Agency representatives reported.
