The sum of $3,500,000 will be required during the current year to provide clothing, maintenance, care and education for approximately 7,000 children now under the care of the youth immigration department of the Jewish Agency, Eliezer Kaplan, the Agency’s treasurer, cabled today to the newly formed Youth Immigration Coordinating Committee here.
An additional $800,000 this year and $550,000 next year will be needed for beusing, facilities for these children, Kaplan reported. He declared that “it is essential that resources of American Jewry be mobilized under the guidance of a single body, which will coordinate the activities of the various organizations raising funds for youth immigration to Palestine.”
