Sir Frank Joseph Coleman Pollitzer, a Jewish Alderman, will be the Lord Mayor of London for the year beginning November, 1942. On the occasion of the election of Sir John Dawson Laurie as Lord Mayor for 1941-2, the Assembly of Liveryman of the Guilds in the City of London at a meeting in the London Guild Hall designated the Jewish Alderman from Queenhithe as Sir John’s successor for 1942-3.
