Jewish and black activists announced plans to recreate the 1960s freedom rides from New York to Mississippi that brought Northern activists to the segregated South for civil rights protests. The bus caravan, scheduled to leave in June, marks the 35th anniversary of the murder of two Jewish activists from New York and a black activist from Mississippi by members of the Ku Klux Klan.
