Samuel Harris, a Jew, who is in charge of one of the principal ARP ambulance stations in this city, will be included in the group of experienced ARP workers which will soon leave for the United States to assist in organizing the civilian air-raid defenses there. Harris has already corresponded with Mayor Fiorello LaGuardia of New York who is the national director of civilian defense activities in America and it is understood that Mayor LaGuardia has welcomed Harris’ collaboration.
Harris and his unit distinguished themselves during the severe Nazi raids on London earlier in the year. The premises of their ARP unit was severely damaged by bombs but there was not a single casualty in men or vehicles.
